Alex Isabirye Front Runner For Vacant Express Job

Alex Isabirye is the leading candidate for the vacant Express FC position, The-SportsNation can exclusively report.

The club parted ways with James Odoch following a goalless draw with BUL at Wankulukuku.

Initially, Jackson Magera and Edward Golola were considered, but Isabirye’s interest has shifted the focus.

A meeting between the two parties is scheduled for Thursday, potentially resulting in an agreement.

Isabirye has been without a coaching role since departing from Vipers in July, and recently turned down an offer from Gaddafi as Technical Director.

During his tenure at Vipers, he managed 13 league games, securing seven wins, four draws, and two losses against Bright Stars and SC Villa while clinching the title.

His time at Kitende also led to winning the Uganda Cup.

Previously, Isabirye moved from BUL FC to Vipers, steering BUL to the Uganda Cup round of 16 before his departure. His managerial experience includes roles with URA, BUL, Soana, Kyetume, among others.

In the meantime, Hassan Mubiru will temporarily lead Express in their upcoming match against SC Villa at Wankulukuku, taking on the role of head coach on an interim basis.
