•Gaddafi 2-1 UPDF
Gaddafi secured a 2-1 victory over UPDF during a Uganda Premier League match held at the Gaddafi Arena in Jinja last Thursday.
Thomas Ochungo and Benson Muhindo scored for Gaddafi, putting them in a two-goal lead before Bright Vuni pulled one back for the visiting team.
However, despite Vuni’s goal, UPDF couldn’t find an equalizer in time, as the hosts clinched the win.
This win was crucial for Gaddafi following their recent 6-1 loss against KCCA at Lugogo.
Ochungo netted the opener with a header from Frank Mulimi’s corner just before halftime, while Muhindo later doubled the lead from the penalty spot in the second half.
Vuni managed to score for UPDF thanks to a rebound from close range after an initial save, reducing the deficit.
UPDF suffered their third consecutive loss, having previously been defeated by Arua Hill and Vipers.
Gaddafi now sits at 13 points, while UPDF remains just one point above the relegation zone.
Looking ahead, Gaddafi will face SC Villa at Wankulukuku on December 13, whereas UPDF will host Mbarara City at Bombo on December 11.
