BUL Salvage Point Against NEC

Sunday, December 10
•BUL 1-1 NEC
•URA 4-1 Arua Hill
•Wakiso Giants 3-0 Busoga United

BUL managed to secure a late equalizer, securing a draw against NEC in a league match held at the FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru.

NEC seemed poised for another notable win after Rashid Okocha’s early goal put them in the lead.

However, BUL’s substitute, Samuel Ssekamatte, came through with a goal six minutes before the end, salvaging a hard fought point for the home team.

The result leaves BUL (26) at the top but they will relinquish this position in case Vipers (23) beat Maroons on Wednesday at Luzira.

NEC remain in third as well with 20 points, just a point above Kitara in fourth place who will be hosting Express in Masindi on Tuesday.

Okocha capitalized on a pass from Enock Ssebagala, striking with his left foot to surprise goalkeeper Tom Ikara and give NEC the lead.

Ikara’s solid performance, including a crucial save against Okocha in the second half, kept BUL in contention.

Ssekamatte leveled the score, nodding in a long delivery from left-back Nicholas Mwere.

BUL came close to clinching a win, but NEC goalkeeper Samson Kirya managed to tip Gerald Ogweti’s header, preventing BUL from securing maximum points.

This, is the first time BUL has failed to win a home game.

BUL visit Vipers on December 23 while NEC host Express next at Lugogo on December 21.
