Joseph Ssemujju scored a hat-trick as URA FC thrashed Arua Hill FC 4-1 in the Uganda Premier League (UPL) at Lugazi.
Ssemujju scored in the 26th, 55th and 72nd minutes, while Ibrahim Dada scored the other goal for URA in the 28th minute, and Safi Mansoor scored the only goal for Arua Hill in the 5th minute of the game.
Before playing Arua Hill, Ssemujju hadn’t scored any goal this season, but he’s now only the second player to score a UPL hat-trick this season.
Less than two weeks back, Nelson Ssenkatuka recorded the very first UPL hat-trick this season, and it also came against Arua Hill as Bright Stars won 3-1.
For Ssemujju, he owes it all to his teammates, he said; ” I’m very happy for the win, and even more excited for the hat-trick. I hadn’t scored a goal this season, and now I’ve scored three in one game.
“Going forward, this will give me the confidence I needed to perform better, and to score more goals,” the energetic pacy winger noted.
The Sunday result sent URA to seventh position on the table of 16 teams, with 16 points from eleven games – ten points off the top and eight points above the red line.
Upnext, before the Christmas break, the Tax Collectors will visit Busoga United in Jinja on Thursday, December 21.
