Ugandan striker Steven Mukwala capped a Man Of The Match performance with two goals as Asante Kotoko came from a goal down to to beat Hearts of Oak 3-2 in the Ghana Premier League.
The Porcupine Warriors sit seventh on the 18-team Ghana Premier League table with 22 points, only four behind table leaders Samartex who have gathered 26 points after 14 games played.
In the game played on Sunday, December 10 at the Baba Yara Stadium, Linda Mtange put the hosts ahead, heading in a brilliant cross from a free-kick delivered by Ibrahim Salifu in the 37th minute.
Kotoko, however ensured that the first 45 minutes ended on level terms as Isaac Oppong scored for the visitors with a minute left to play for in the first half.
Just ten minutes into the second half, Mukwala netted the second for Kotoko, his first of the game to put the game at 2-1 to Kotoko’s good.
The Ugandan striker in the 74th minute scored another for his team to lead 3-1, also taking his tally to six goals in the last five games for Kotoko. Martin Karikari managed a late second goal for Hearts of Oak, but it wasn’t enough as Kotoko held on for a significant victory.
