Issa Ssempijja Takes Charge as Uganda Martyrs Head Coach

FUFA Women Super League side Uganda Martyrs Lubaga has announced the appointment of Issa Ssempijja as their new head coach.

Ssempijja steps in to fill the shoes of Rogers Nkugwa, taking over the reins of the team as they prepare for their upcoming fixtures.

The change in leadership comes as the team gears up for a crucial match against UCU Lady Cardinals scheduled for Saturday, January 7, 2024, to be hosted at the St George Stadium.

This fixture is anticipated to be a significant test for the newly appointed head coach and the team.

Uganda Martyrs Lubaga currently holds the third position on the league table, having secured seven points from their first five matches.

Despite their promising start, they faced defeats at the hands of league leaders Kampala Queens and second-placed side She Maroons.

The team’s performance so far comprises two wins against Lady Doves and Rines, along with a draw against Asubo Ladies.

As they aim to climb up the rankings, the appointment of Ssempijja brings a fresh perspective and strategy to bolster the team’s prospects in the league.
