Big man Philip Ameny rejoins the National Basketball League, reuniting with his former team, Power Basketball Club.
Ameny, who also featured for Falcons, departed Power after the 2019 NBL season.
Last season, he featured for Kisasa Heroes in the Tanzania National Basketball League, contributing to their journey to the semifinals where they were defeated by eventual champions, JKT.
Subsequently, Ameny and Kisasa Heroes clinched third place by triumphing over Dar City in the Bronze medal match.
Returning to Power for his third stint, Ameny previously played for the team in 2015 before a disagreement with then coach Robert Mugabe led him to join the now-defunct Warriors.
His return is anticipated to fortify Power’s lineup, aiming to improve upon their 12-9 regular-season record from the previous campaign.
Unfortunately, Power’s season concluded with a 2-1 loss to UCU Canons in the best-of-three quarterfinals.
