*Kampala Queens 0-2 Kawempe Muslim
Kawempe Muslim clinched a well-deserved 2-0 triumph over Kampala Queens as the FUFA Women Super League returned on Wednesday with a fixture held at Lugogo on Wednesday.
Agnes Nabukenya’s two-goal display in the first half proved decisive as the Valley Warriors silenced the defending champions in front of their home supporters.
It was not a start new Kampala Queens coach Charles Ayeikho Lukula had envisioned having replaced Sam Ssenyange Kadidi recently.
Kawempe Muslim dominated the game from start to finish, displaying a superior performance against the hosts.
Nabukenya found the net in the 21st minute, capitalizing on a goalkeeper error by Daisy Nakaziro to put her team in the lead.
Just before halftime, she doubled the advantage by tapping in a well-delivered cross from Samalie Nakacwa.
Nabukenya had an opportunity for a hat-trick before halftime but was denied by the goalkeeper.
The defeat marked a challenging debut for Kampala Queens’ new head coach Ayiekho, highlighting the need for improvement in their attacking prowess if they aim to defend their title this season.
Under the guidance of Ayub Khalifa Kiyingi, Kawempe Muslim displayed an outstanding performance, and the side move to 10 points and drawing level with Kampala Queens in the standings.
Its the first loss of the season for Kampala Queens whose only defeat last season came against Kawempe as well.
