Kampala Queens bounced back to winning ways with a deserved 2-0 win over Lady Doves in a FUFA Women Super league game held in Masindi on Saturday morning.
First half goals from Catherine Nagadya and Sumaya Komuntale (penalty) were enough as the Queens of Soccer picked maximum points.
The win, first under Charles Ayiekho saw them bounce back after that shocking loss to Kawempe Muslim earlier in the week.
And in Masindi, they dominated from the word go and it paid off as early as the second minute through Nagadya.
Komuntale doubled her side’s lead in the 28th minute, scoring from the Spot kick after Nagadya was fouled by Lady Doves goalkeeper Marsha Omary in the forbidden area.
Kampala Queens, who were dorminant could have ended with a bigger margin before the break but were wasteful.
Nagadya missed with a keeper to beat while Komuntale saw her close range effort punched out for a corner.
In the second half, despite Kampala Queens dorminance, they failed to add on their tally against an improved Lady Doves side.
Following Saturday’s victory, Kampala Queens moved to 13 points but remained in the second position.
For Lady Doves, they remained on six points and they must step up to avoid early relegation struggles.
