•Vipers 3-0 Busoga United
Vipers concluded the League’s First Round triumphantly, securing a dominant 3-0 victory against Busoga United at Kitende under floodlights.
Eric Kambale, Milton Karisa, and Abubakar Lawal found the net for the Venoms, who concluded the first round in second place, trailing leaders BUL by three points.
Yunus Sentamu set up Eric Kambale for the opener, with Kambale swiftly maneuvering into the area and calmly slotting the ball past the goalkeeper to give Vipers the lead under six minutes.
Kambale later beat his marker, setting up Karisa, who unleashed a shot beyond the keeper, doubling Vipers’ advantage in the 23rd minute.
At the hour mark, Vipers secured their third goal as Lawal confidently converted from the penalty spot after debutant defender Grant Matsiko was fouled in the area.
Under new coach Livingston Mbabazi who replaced Leo Neiva, Vipers have secured two consecutive victories and the side will fancy their chances to defend their crown.
This successful streak ends Vipers’ previous poor form, marked by three winless games, including consecutive losses against BUL and Express.
As for Busoga United, their position drops to third from the bottom, necessitating substantial effort to avoid relegation as the second round kicks off in February.
