Richard Anyama, the former Uganda Premier League and FUFA Big League best goalkeeper, is poised to reunite with his former team UPDF FC.
Anyama initially signed for Simba (now UPDF) in the 2013/2014 season, spending two seasons there before joining The Saints, a FUFA Big League entity, in the 2015/2016 season and aiding in their promotion.
Amid links to Gadaffi FC, Police FC, and Blacks Power, UPDF FC seems to have secured the shot stopper’s services, a valuable addition considering their defensive struggles.
The team conceded twenty-three goals in the first round, managing only three clean sheets against URA FC, Busoga United, and BUL FC.
The Army side faced inconsistency in goalkeeping, with Wasswa Yusuf, Mabuya Simon, and Okidi Jimmy all given opportunities to showcase their abilities.
Wasswa played ten out of fifteen matches, conceding ten goals and securing three clean sheets but was also sent off against SC Villa.
Mabuya faced six goals in four matches, while Okidi, who played two matches in the first round against SC Villa and Maroons, allowed seven goals.
