Midfielder Emmanuel Alex Wasswa has confirmed returning to his parent club KCCA after months away on loan with Express FC.
“Dear Express Football Club, I want to express my deepest gratitude for the incredible journey I’ve had with the club,” Wasswa said in his goodbye message to the Red Eagles.
“It’s been a short time, but filled with unforgettable moments of learning, exposure, and support. I am sincerely thankful to the fans, fellow players, coaches, and management for their unwavering encouragement,” the player added.
“As I turn my focus back to my parent club, KCCA, I carry with me the valuable experiences gained during my time with Express FC. Your warmth and camaraderie will always hold a special place in my heart.”
“Wishing Express Football Club all the best in their future endeavors. Thank you for the memories.”
Wasswa joined KCCA in July 2021 from Villa on a three-year-contract in a fascinating transfer of the season at the time – with high expectations.
You can’t doubt the midfielders qualities, but injuries interfered with his progress at Lugogo, and he was consequently sent to Wankulukuku on loan with Express in August 2023.
In January 2024, after a brief but fruitful time out with the Red Eagles, The Kasasiro Boys decided to take their man back, and the player too was willing to go ‘back home’ and prove his worth once more.
The midfielder has contributed six goals for Express in the first half of the 2023-24 Uganda Premier League season, scoring four goals and making two assists.
