In a significant move within the National Basketball League (NBL), KIU Rangers’ captain, Uwineza Ninette, has officially joined KCCA Leopards, marking the end of her remarkable tenure with KIU.
Ninette, the longest-serving player at KIU since her arrival in 2015, played a pivotal role in leading her team to the NBL finals last season – a historic achievement for KIU.
Despite their impressive journey, they were ultimately defeated by JKL Lady Dolphins.
The seasoned player, who turns 36 in July, boasts an impressive record, averaging 4 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 assists.
Her outstanding performance earned her the title of the best Point Guard last season, sharing the spotlight with teammates Perus Nyamwenge and Rose Amaniyo, Sarah Ageno and Hope Akello of JT Lady Jaguars and JKL Lady Dolphins respectively.
KCCA Leopards have been actively strengthening their roster, having previously signed Margaret Baagala from Kampala University and Moreen Amoding from JT Lady Jaguars. With the addition of Ninette, KCCA aims to secure their first league title since 2014.
