Midfielder Lawrence Bukenya has joined Uganda Premier League side Kitara FC, The-SportsNation can confirm.
The talented player has inked a two-year deal with the club, pending an official unveiling.
Bukenya, previously associated with Wakiso Giants, faced a setback during the UPL first round due to an injury.
However, some reports hinted at a potential fallout with the club’s management, citing issues related to unpaid fees.
Kitara FC, actively shaping their squad in the ongoing January transfer window, also added Express captain Arthur Kiggundu to their roster.
The arrival of the former KCCA player significantly bolsters Kitara’s central midfield, where he will join forces with the likes of Donato Okello.
This strategic strengthening aims to enhance the team’s performance and competitiveness in upcoming fixtures of the Second round.
Despite the returning to top flight, Kitara FC had a commendable first-round performance, finishing in third place with 29 points.
They are only four points behind the league leaders, BUL, setting the stage for an exciting and competitive second half of the season.
Bukenya’s addition to the squad adds depth and experience.
