Kampala Queens picked a deserved 5-1 win over She Maroons to go top of the FUFA Women Super League table.
An own goal from Justine Najjuko and a strike each from Hasifa Nassuna, Zainah Nandede, Catherine Nagadya and Sumaya Komuntale ensured that Charles Ayiekho’s side bagged maximum points.
Winnie Kyomugisha scored the only goal for She Maroons on a day they will want to forget easily.
It was a brilliant show for Kampala Queens who were the better side from the word go.
They got an early lead in the 9th minute when Najjuko connected Zainah Nandede’s cross into her own net.
Moments later, Nasuuna doubled her side’s lead with a well taken free kick after Shakira Mutibwa was fouled at the edge of the box.
At the restart of the second half, Nandede made it three with a simple tap in off Nasuuna’s well taken corner.
Nagadya made it four moments later capitalising on a defensive mistake before Komuntale put the icing on the cake thanks to a cut back pass from Nagadya.
Kyomugisha later pulled one back for the visitors, but her goal only proved to be a consolation.
The win, second for head coach Charles Ayiekho saw them move top of the table with now 16 points, after their close competitor Kawempe Muslim slipped against Asubo Gafford on sunday morning.
For She Maroons, it was their first loss of the season and they remained third on the log.
