Cricket Cranes Take World Cup Preps To India

Barely a week since their return from their boot camp in Jinja, the Cricket Cranes have left for India where they will continue with their preparations for their first ever World Cup.

The Cricket Cranes will be locals at Spahale for the next 12 days, and their hub for that period will be the Omtex ICWC Cricket Institute. They will play at least nine T20 practise games against select sides in India.

They are scheduled to play against Mumbai Cricket Association Senior Men’s team, teams from Mumbai A Division, and Omtex ICWC Senior Men’s team.

Fifteen players including Innocent Mwebaze who debuts for the team make up the side, but it is the return of openers and pace bowlers Juma Miyaji and Cosmos Kyewuta that has the fans excited.

The two are an intregal part of the Cricket Cranes, but due to their respective injuries last year, they were forced to sit out most of the season.

Wicketkeeper Fred Achellam and top order batter Ronald Lutaaya also make their return to the team, but fast bowler Bilal Hassun and all rounder Riazat Ali Shah miss out. The two are still in their home country Pakistan.
