Ivan Mayanja Set For SC Villa Switch

In a notable transfer development, former Express FC midfielder Ivan Mayanja is reportedly on the verge of joining SC Villa, The-SportsNation has learnt.

The talented player trained with the Jogoos on Thursday, undergoing assessment by coach Dusan Stojanovic.

Mayanja’s journey in top-tier football began when he joined Express FC in 2020 from Regional League side CATIDA FC.

He then went on to help Express triumph in both the Uganda Premier League and the CECAFA Kagame Cup during his debut season.

After leaving Express, despite initial links to URA before the season’s commencement, he ultimately signed with FUFA Big League side Kiyinda Boys.

As Mayanja looks set to make a move, SC Villa seems keen on strengthening its squad further. Reagan Mpande and Sadiq Ssekyembe are also currently training with the team as they aim to enhance their roster before the commencement of the second round.

SC Villa, with a rich history of record 16 league titles, concluded the first round in the fifth position with 26 points.

The team is aiming to climb the ranks in the second round, currently standing below BUL, Vipers, Kitara, and Maroons SC in the standings.
