Nzau Lutumba Leaves Vipers

Angolan defender Nzau Miguel Lutumba has left Vipers SC following the expiration of his contract short term contract, the club has confirmed.

The 32-year-old defender only joined the Venoms in January last year, and managed just 15 appearances for the Kitende-based side.

Lutumba found it a bit hard to cement his place on the starting XI, competing with other good defenders including Murushid Juuko, Hilary Mukundane, Bashir Asiku, Livingstone Mulondo and youngster Rogers Torach.

Regardless of his limited playing time, the Angolan player has left Uganda as a double champion with Vipers.

He was part of last season’s remarkable Venoms who won a domestic double – The Uganda Premier League and Stanbic Uganda Cup under coach Alex Isabirye.

Vipers described Lutumba as ‘a consummate professional’ and always a positive influence both on and off the field.

Before coming to Uganda, Lutumba had also previously featured for Muscat Club in the Oman Professional League, AFC Uttara of Bangladesh plus Angolan sides Wiliet Sporting Club, Progresso and Sporting Club Cabinda.
