Crested Cranes midfielder Joan Nabirye has signed a two-year contract with Spartak Moscow in the Russian Russian Women Super League.
The Ugandan player joins the Russian outfit as a free agent from another European club, FK Minsk in Belarus.
The former Vihiga Queens (Kenya) player was full of expectations and so excited for the new challenge in Europe.
“New home, New memories at Spartak Moscow FC 🙏🙏🙏. God above all,” she briefly stated after her unveiling on Saturday.
In Uganda, the combative midfielder has also previously played for Kampala Queens and Asubo Ladies.
In Russia, Nabirye will find another Ugandan Fauzia Najjemba who plays for city rivals Dynamo Moscow in the national Women’s top division.
