Uganda Premier League club UPDF FC is in advanced negotiations to secure the services of NEC FC’s leading goal-scorer, Cromwell Rwothomio Abang.
The former Vipers forward is currently without a contract at National Enterprise Cooperation (NEC), having completed a short six-month employment deal.
Rwothomio has proven to be a prolific scorer for Hussein Mbalangu’s side, notching six goals since his move from Vipers.
Struggling to find the net in the first half of the season, UPDF FC sees the acquisition of a seasoned goal-scorer as a significant boost.
The Bombo-based team managed only eleven goals in the initial round, with Achumu Faridi Rashid contributing five.
Other goal-scorers include Vuni Bright Joseph with two, while Robert Eseru, Nsimbe Badru Jibril, Bernard Muwanga, and Tebandeke Christopher each scored once.
Rwothomio has previously played for Paidha Black Angels, URA, and Vipers.
UPDF FC has announced the signing of goalkeeper Richard Anyama and completed deals with defenders Ronald Owiny Ogenga and Samson Kasozi, along with forward Mubarak Nsubuga—official unveiling pending.
