Ahmed Borini: Arua Hill Assistant Coach Leaves Club

Arua Hill SC assistant coach Ahmed Borini has announced his departure from the struggling West Nile-based club.

“Today I’m saying goodbye to a club that gave me a great chance to become a better coach In the last two years,” Borini announced on Sunday, January 28, 2024.

Grateful for the rare opportunity, the coach is proud of having utilized the time to learn and help the team improve.

“Thanks to coach Mbabazi (Livingstone) for guiding me, and thanks to the club management for the chance,” Borini added.

“It’s time for me to leave, and I wish the team all the best in the upcoming games and future.”

According to the latest reports, Sadiq Sempigi is set to take over as Arua Hill head coach, replacing Charles Livingstone Mbabazi who left to join Vipers SC.

Sempigi, who previously worked at Arua hill as assistant coach under Mbabazi has also managed Mbarara City, Onduparaka FC and most recently Jinja North FC.

At the moment, the Leopards are going through a lot of problems ranging from governance, ownership, and contractual terms of players, among other issues.

It hasn’t been any different on the field of play, they managed to collect just five points from 15 games in the first round, sitting rock bottom of the 16-team UPL table.

FUFA scrapped Arua Hill off the Uganda Premier League (UPL) second round fixture for failing to honour the licensing requirements to operate in the topflight.
