Soltilo Bright Stars have unveiled 22 year old Indian-born Centre Back Aaryan Badoni.
Aaryan was born in India, but grew up in Uganda, and now returns to join the Uganda Premier League (UPL) side after sometime away in Dubai.
According to Bright Stars, the club has not just got a player, but a star ready to shine in the heart of Kampala.
“Aaryan is not just here to play; he’s here to make a difference,” the club proclaimed after landing his signature.
“His short-term goals include gaining valuable professional experience within the Ugandan football system.”
The versatile defender who can operate effectively in right back as well started his football journey in Kampala during his high school years, playing for Rising Stars Academy and the SC Villa Youth Team.
With Rising Star Academy, Aaryan got the opportunity to showcase his skills, participating in the prestigious USA Cup in America.
Playing across borders, the defender joined Excel Soccer Academy before making the move to Dubai City FC in the UAE, where he honed his skills to meet the high standards that will enable him to compete in Uganda’s first division.
Aaryan most recently played for Gulf United in the third division of the UAE Professional Football League before returning to sign with Soltilo Bright Stars in Uganda.
Aaryan will make his UPL debut this weekend, if selected on the Bright Stars squad to face Wakiso Giants on Sunday, Feb 4, 2024.
He finds Bright Stars in tenth position of the 16-team UPL table, with 18 points from 15 games.
