Vipers Midfielder Abdu Lumala Departs Club

Vipers Sports Club has officially announced the departure of midfielder Abdu Lumala from the team, with both parties reaching an agreement for his exit.

The 26-year-old footballer, who joined the Venoms as a free agent in July 2022, has decided to leave the club to “explore new opportunities.”

Lumala played a significant role during his two-season stint with Vipers SC.

During his time with the club, Lumala made a total of 20 appearances, contributing three goals and five assists.

Notably, he played a crucial part in Vipers SC’s success last season, securing a domestic double by winning the Uganda Premier League and the Stanbic Uganda Cup in the 2022/23 season.

One of Lumala’s memorable achievements includes being a key player in the squad that eliminated TP Mazembe in Lubumbashi, Democratic Republic of Congo. This victory marked a historic moment for Vipers SC as they qualified for the CAF Champions League group stages for the first time in the club’s history.
