In a thrilling National Basketball League encounter at Abja Parks in Naalya, the Nam Blazers secured an impressive 84-64 victory against KCCA Panthers.

The Blazers, determined to redeem themselves after a recent setback, faced KCCA Panthers following a 65-75 defeat against Our Saviour last week.

Having previously triumphed over rivals KIU Titans in their league opener, the Blazers entered the game with a hunger for success.

The first quarter saw KCCA Panthers taking a slight lead at 17-15, but the Blazers rallied, seizing a 40-36 advantage at halftime.

The turning point occurred in the third quarter, as KCCA Panthers struggled, managing only 3 points against the Blazers’ formidable 25. This decisive period solidified Nam Blazers’ control, and they never relinquished their lead, ultimately winning by a commanding 20 points.

Michael Makiadi played a pivotal role in the victory, contributing 18 points and securing 11 rebounds.

Paul Odong and Peter Cheng added to the team’s success with 16 and 14 points, respectively.

On the opposing side, Emmanuel Ateng and Caesar Kizito notched 13 and 11 points respectively for KCCA Panthers.

This marks a challenging start for KCCA, as they now face two consecutive losses in the league, following a 69-64 defeat against JKL Dolphins in their season opener.

Raymond Muhumuza’s squad will be eager to regroup and bounce back in the upcoming fixtures.
