Preview: BUL Eager To Return To Winning Column

BUL, currently at the top of the league table, will be eager to bounce back to their winning ways when they host Bright Stars in a league fixture on Wednesday at Njeru.

In their previous encounter, BUL managed a goalless draw against KCCA, marking the commencement of the second round.

However, their first-round closure saw them stumble with a loss to Gaddafi and a draw against Mbarara City, leaving them with a narrow two-point lead over Kitara.

They hold a four-point advantage over reigning champions Vipers, who have played one game less.

The draw secured against KCCA felt like a victory for BUL, as they were largely outplayed throughout the match.

Despite facing criticism for their cautious tactics, Coach Abbey Bogere Kikomeko and his squad prioritizes on achieving results as they navigate through the pivotal phase of the season.

On the other hand, Bright Stars enter the upcoming fixture on a high note following a hard-fought 1-0 triumph over Wakiso Giants.

Nelson Ssenkatuka, leading goal-scorer with 11, once again proved instrumental, netting the solitary goal that sealed the victory.

Sitting six points above the relegation zone, Bright Stars will be fueled by a desire for revenge after suffering a 1-0 defeat at the hands of BUL in their previous encounter, courtesy of Lawrence Tezikya’s strike.

However, Bright Stars face a daunting challenge, as their away form has been less than impressive this season, with only four draws in seven outings.

Despite the odds stacked against them, they will hope to make an impact and upset the league leaders on their home turf.
