Midfielder Steven Sserwadda Rejoins New York Red Bulls II

The New York Red Bulls II have confirmed the return of midfielder Steven Sserwadda, handing the Uganda Cranes player an MLS NEXT Pro contract.

At 21 years old, Sserwadda brings a wealth of experience, having spent three seasons within the Red Bull organization.

Sserwadda has not played a professional match since undergoing surgery in April of 2023 to repair a torn medial collateral ligament in his right knee.

Since his debut for Red Bulls II on October 15, 2021, against the Tampa Bay Rowdies, the midfielder has showcased his prowess on the field, amassing 1,396 minutes in 18 appearances. During this time, Sserwadda has contributed two goals and one assist to his team’s efforts.

Head Coach Ibrahim Sekagya expressed his excitement about Sserwadda’s return, highlighting the midfielder’s valuable skill set and adaptability within the team’s system.

As New York Red Bulls II gear up for their second season in MLS NEXT Pro, Sserwadda’s addition promises to inject further depth and talent into the squad.
