*Maroons 0-0 Wakiso Giants
*Vipers 0-0 Gaddafi
Maroons and Wakiso Giants played to a goalless draw in the Startimes Uganda Premier League game at Luzira Prisons Ground.
It wasn’t the ideal start to the second round for Maroons, who had hoped for better after their defeat to Villa in the opener.
And the result against Wakiso Giants will be seen as two points lost rather than one gained.
Despite both sides creating scoring opportunities, neither could beat the goalkeeper.
The hosts dominated possession but couldn’t convert their dominance into goals.
Maroons felt aggrieved when the referee initially awarded a penalty after Fred Amaku was fouled in the box, only for the first assistant referee to incorrectly flag him offside.
Goalkeeper Bashir Ssekagya denied Amaku a potential winning goal in the 88th minute.
Prior to that, Maroons had chances through Samson Kigozi, Abraham Tusubira, and Amaku, all of whom failed to capitalize.
The visitors also had opportunities but failed to convert them.
Maroons will take on URA on Tuesday 13th while Maroons will host BUL FC on 23rd.
