In an effort to combat hooliganism within Sports Club Villa, the club’s disciplinary committee has taken decisive action against fan misconduct.
Ali Kigongo, a member of the Villa Park branch, has been suspended from attending two home matches following his altercation with match officials during the game against Maroons FC on February 1st at Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku.
According to a letter issued by the disciplinary committee on February 7th, Kigongo’s suspension stems from his disrespectful behavior towards match officials immediately after the match.
The committee’s verdict mandates his absence from the upcoming home fixtures against Vipers and Express FC, alongside a requirement to undergo steward training.
The incident, witnessed by club president Omar Mandela, highlights the seriousness with which SC Villa addresses fan conduct.
This action follows previous sanctions against the club, including the deduction of two points and two goals from their previous season’s tally due to fan violence during a league match against Wakiso Giants at Wankulukuku Stadium.
SC Villa currently holds the fourth position in the league standings, with 29 points, trailing league leaders BUL by eight points (37).
