City Oilers continued their undefeated streak in the 2024 National Basketball League with a resounding 81-56 triumph over JKL Dolphins.

The game, held on Saturday at the YMCA court in Wandegeya, showcased the Oilers’ dominance from the opening quarter to the final buzzer.

From the outset, the Oilers asserted their authority, establishing a commanding 21-10 lead by the end of the first quarter.

Despite a brief resurgence from JKL Dolphins in the second quarter, which they narrowly lost 14-15, City Oilers remained firmly in control.

The second half saw the Oilers further solidify their position, outscoring their opponents 45-32 to secure a well-deserved victory.

Leading the charge for City Oilers were four standout players who each contributed double-digit points: Malual Dier (15), Fayed Baale (13), Ivan Muhwezi (12), and Titus Lual (12).

Additionally, James Okello made his presence felt on the court with an impressive 14 rebounds.

With this win, City Oilers maintain a perfect record, notching their third consecutive victory of the season. Their previous triumphs include commanding wins against Power (73-38) and Our Saviour (74-38).

Looking ahead, City Oilers are poised for more challenging matchups. After Ndejje Angels on Wednesday, they are in a highly anticipated clashes against rivals KIU Titans and Nam Blazers on the subsequent Fridays.

On the other side, the defeat marks the second loss for JKL Dolphins, who previously fell to Our Saviour (52-60), with their sole victory coming against KCCA Panthers (69-64).

The discrepancy in bench performance was evident, with JKL managing just 15 points off their bench compared to City Oilers’ impressive 37.

As City Oilers continue to assert their dominance in the league, their competitors will undoubtedly be strategizing to halt their relentless march towards victory.
