Ashadu Bugembe: Police Boost Goalkeeping Department

FUFA Big League (FBL) table leaders Police FC have added goalkeeper Ashadu Bugembe to their squad ahead of the second round.

The goalkeeper has signed a short-term (six months) contract that will see him stay at Police until the end of the 2023/24 season, according to the club.

Bugembe brings with him alot of experience to Police, having also Previously played for Maroons FC, SC Villa, Kira Young FC, Masaka LC and BUL FC.

Before Bugembe, the Cops had also earlier also confirmed the signing of versatile forward Francis Onekalit from Ndejje University FC.

The two players are expected to greatly improve the already competitive Police team that now leads the 15-team FBL table with 31 points from 14 games – having won nine, drawn four and lost just once in the first round.

Police’s first second round league match against second placed Lugazi FC (29 points) earlier on scheduled for Sunday, February 11 was pushed to February 25.

The rearrangement was as such to accommodate the Stanbic Uganda Cup round of 32 games slated for 14th – 21st this month.

The Cops will play against third division side Busei Football Club from Iganga in the Uganda Cup round of 32.
