FUFA Women’s Super League (FWSL) defending Champions Kampala Queens have added another striker to boost their attacking options.
Centre forward, Lilian Kasuubo is the latest player to join Kampala Queens in the midseason transfer window. The striker joins the Palace from Maroons on short term (six months loan) deal.
“Kampala Queens FC is delighted to announce the signing of forward Kasuubo Lilian,” the club confirmed on Tuesday, February 13.
Kasuubo now becomes the second player to join the Queens of Soccer midseason, after the club also just recently aquired the services of Kenyan midfielder Merceline Wayodi from Vihiga Queens on a two-year contract.
The Charles Ayiekho-coached aims at improving their perfomance in the second round, after finishing the first round second on the ten-team table with 20 points after nine games – just a point below leaders Kawempe Moslem Ladies (21).
The Lugogo-based side got six wins, two draws and just one loss – scoring 16 goals and registering four clean-sheets in the process.
The FWSL second round resumes this weekend, and the Queens of Soccer will start with an away tie against Wakiso Hill at St Mary’s stadium, Kitende on Sunday, February 18, before hosting Asubo Ladies at the MTN Omondi Stadium on Saturday, February 24.
