Official: SC Villa Signs Goalkeeper Martin Ssenkooto

SC Villa have confirmed signing goalkeeper Martin Ssenkooto.

He has bee training with the club reserves last season before signing a three-year contract.

“Martin has been performing well with the reserves and he’s been impressive,” said Villa coach Edward Kaziba.

“Now the time for him to prove himself with the seniors. I am confident he will show his worth. We couldn’t have signed him at a better time.”

He will boost the goalkeeping department after the departure of Samson Kirya who reportedly joined Wakiso GiantsFC.

He will have to fight for playing time with Said Keni and new signing Meddie Kibirige.

“I am very delighted to join this great club,” he told SC Villa media. “I have trained with both coach Kaziba and Kiberu and are great people to work with.”

“Together with the rest of the team we have an opportunity to show the world that we are the finest in the land. Joining Villa is every player’s dream and I am happy and I am happy that my dream has come alive.”

The 23-year old started his career with Super Cubs Soccer Academy in Rubaga and has played for MUBS in University Football League and Aidenal in Futsal Super league.

He joins after graduating at MUBS and hopes of playing post graduate football in the US.
