Miya, now at Croatian club HNK Gorica, is hopeful and confident that the Cranes can take of business come Sunday.

Speaking to FUFA media Egypt, the former Vipers and Standard Liege player revealed:

“For we are ready for the task ahead of us on Sunday and I know Tanzania will come with full force wanting to win the match for they to secure qualification slot but we also want to finish it at high so we shall give it our best shot.”

Miya arrived in camp on Thursday, the last to arrive, and took part in the team’s training session later in the evening.

The intelligent player has already scored three goals in this qualification campaign for Uganda, all coming against Lesotho – One in Namboole and twice in Maseru.

The Cranes have already booked their place in this year’s AFCON tourney scheduled in Egypt in June- Sit on top with 13 points after five games.

However, like Miya said above, the team will want to end the campaign on a high including reaching AFCON without conceding a goal.

Miya will forever be remembered as the player who scored the goal that secured Cranes place at AFCON in September 2016 against Comoros following a 38 year wait.
