Basketball: KIU Titans Snatch KCCA-Bound Odom, Add Ssentongo

Francis Kasinde, popularly known as Odom by the basketball fraternity has joined KIU Titans, it’s now official.

The deal comes as a shock after the forward who was released by Betway Power at the end of last season, had been training with KCCA Men and the deal was all but sealed.

Speaking to SportsNation, KIU Titans chairman who doubles as the FUBA president briefly commented: “KCCA were very slow in the deal.”

Odom struggled at Power last season – started 5 of the 28 games he played the Betway sponsored side.

He contributed 98 pts, averaging 3.5 points and 2.46 rebounds per game.

The small forward had joined Power from Ndejje University and his aggressiveness, blocks and his left hand shot will be key for Titans this season.

Odom is the second player to go off KCCA radar in this pre season after Joseph Wacha who joined JKL Dolphins (from Our Saviour).

Sserunjogi also added that last year’s semifinalists who also lost to City Oilers in 2017 finals, have added journey man Brian Ssentongo and promising Henry Okoth.

Ssentongo joins KIU from Our Saviour. He had stints with City Oilers, Falcons, Ndejje University and Miracles.

Okoth joins the Kansanga based team from UPDF Tomahawks.
