Boxing: Kassim Ouma Plotting Last Fight In Uganda

One of Uganda’s best boxing export Kassim ‘The Dream’ Ouma, has hinted that he plans to hold his last fight in Uganda.

Ouma, who is now in Uganda for a short holiday told New Vision’s James Bakama that he wants to end it where it all started.

“I am here for a short holiday but I also have plans of fighting in Kampala,” Ouma told New Vision. “This is the only gift I can give Uganda. I am about to retire and want my last fight to be at home. I want it in the MTN Arena, Lugogo.”

“I was based abroad for almost all my entire professional boxing career. It is now time to end it where it all started- here. I started my boxing career in Uganda. I want to end it here, but even more importantly, Ugandans deserve to see me fight at home.”

He revealed that he is in touch with promoters of Big Strikers International to organize a fight in probably June or July.

He also hinted on the move to groom local talent if he is given the role of a national team coach.

Ouma who is famously remembered for his romance with artiste Juliana Kanyomozi, totalled 42 fights, winning 18 by Knockout out of the 29 victories.
