Allan Kayiwa Buoyant Ahead of Vipers Switch

Diminutive forward Allan Kayiwa is excited to be joining 2017/18 Uganda Premier League champions SC Vipers.

Kayiwa, who has been a free agent after his contract expired at Tooro United, is on his way to Vipers.

He was Tooro’s leading scorer in the league with nine goals, including a brace against Nyamityobora on the last day if the season in Mbarara.

“The deal is not yet done,” Kayiwa told the-SportsNation. “We are in advanced talks with the club but am sure all is going well and finalising everything.”

“Vipers is a club that I think will exploit my ability more and am excited and ready to play.”

Kayiwa who joined Tooro United in 2016 from the club’s junior side has been one of Tooro’s pillars going forward.

If this comes to pass, Vipers will have beaten KCCA FC, Mbarara City, Wakiso Giants and Tusker FC among other clubs that wanted Kayiwa’s signature.

He came to prominence in 2016 when he was summoned to the National Team that was preparing for the game against Comoros and Regional tour, then coached by Micho Sredejovic Milutin.

He played his first league game against BIDCO FC in Jinja, coming off the bench but his first goal was against Rwenshama.

He is greatly remembered for that thunderous strike he scored past Villa’s Nicholas Ssebwato in Nakivubo in a game that could later end 3-3 with Dan Wagaluka and Musa Esenu scoring the other goals for Soana (Tooro).
