KCCA FC Kickoff CECAFA Club Championship Preparations

The 2018/19 Startimes Uganda Premier League Champions KCCA FC started their training on Monday, June 17, 2019 at their home in Lugogo.

The Kasasiro boys break their holidays in preparation for the CECAFA Club Champhionship that will be held in Rwanda from the July 7-21, 2019.

KCCA FC did not have Timothy Awany, Allan Kyambadde and Patrick Henry kaddu who were
named in the 23 man squad to represent Uganda in the Africa cup of Nations.

Sadam Juma, despite not making the final cut for AFCON, remained with the Cranes in Abu Dhabi but he will return in the country on Tuesday and expected to join Lugogo in the following days.

“All players returned to training apart from those that were engaged in FUFA Drum games over the weekend,” Club PRO Moses Magero told the-SportsNation.

“We expect a full house on Tuesday 18th when all players report back to training except those at AFCON 2019.”

It is expected that KCCA will starting from Tuesday, carryout gym sessions for the whole week.

A crop of five KCCA Soccer Academy players will join the senior team in Hassan Jurua , Joseph Bukenya Kizza , Sadat Anaku, Musa Ramathan and Joseph kafumbe for the CECAFA.

It should be noted that that in 1978 KCCA FC became the first Ugandan club to win the CECAFA Cup.

Police FC are latest to win the tournament in 2005 Under coach Sam Timbe after defeating Moro United in a 2-1 final.

The Cecafa Tournament is a Tournament played by champions from countries in the Region.

Azam FC from Tanzania are the defending champions and SC Simba are the record holders on six times.

2019 Cecafa Tournament winners will walk away with a prize money of USD 30,000.
