StarTimes Uganda Premier League side Proline FC have been docked six points and as many goals after forfeiting their matchday three game against SC Villa at Lugogo
The letter seen by this website from FUFA Competitions Disciplinary Panel (CDP), the newly promoted league side is found guilty of violating FUFA Competition rules.
Proline, who will also pay Sh5M in fines, become the second club to be docked points for forfeiting a league game after Police FC this season.
SC Villa on the other hand, takes three points and are now joint top of the league with seven points.
It should be noted that Proline had earlier written to FUFA confirming that they were not honouring the fixture because two of their players – Mustafa Mujuzi and Bright Anukani – were on National team duty.
“In consideration of the above findings, the FUFA Competitions Disciplinary Panel orders that;
- Proline FC loses the match against SC Villa by forfeiture.
- Proline FC be docked six points and six goals from those accumulated or to be accumulated in accordance with Article 24 (9) of the FUFA
Competition rules. - That the table standings be updated accordingly.
- For bringing the game into disrepute, Proline FC is fined UGX 5,000,000
(Five Million shillings only) to be paid by 18th September 2019.
There is a right of Appeal in accordance with the FUFA Regulations.”
The development leaves Proline with -3 points – The club had collected three points from their win against Onduparaka. They lost 3-0 to Mbarara City in their opener.
Earlier Proline FC director Mujib Kasule had noted that the club will appeal if they were docked points.
