*Proline FC 2-1 AS Kigali
Ivan Bogere scored a first half brace as Proline FC beat Rwanda’s AS Kigali to reach the playoff round of the qualifiers of the CAF Confederation Cup.
Proline FC came into the game in search for a win or at least a goalless draw to advance after drawing one all in the first leg in Rwanda.
Proline FC who beat Masters Security at the preliminary round thanks to Bogere’s hat-trick at Lugogo, are now 180 minutes away from reaching the group stages on first attempt.
Hamis Kizza strolled through Kigali’s backline to find Bogere who headed home in the 12th minute.
The Visitors could have got a quick response but Martel Allogo was flapped away by goalkeeper Hassan Matovu.
Bogere doubled the lead in the 18th minute, another header after Hakim Kiwanuka headed in his way from a long Mustafa Mujuzi delivery.
Kiwanuka could have made it 3-0 but his effort was denied by the woodwork.
Shafi Songayingabo had a clear cut chance to halve the deficit before the long break but his effort was cleared off the line by goalkeeper Matovu.
The second half was less on action, highlighted by a heavy downpour, but the visitors pulled one back in the 85th minute with Farouk Ssentongo firing past Matovu.
