KCCA Youngster Allan Okello Clinches Inaugural Football-256 Gong

Allan Okello, fresh from making a senior national team debut, has been named the inaugural Football-256 player of the year.

Okello, a KCCA youngster, was voted for by readers of the local online Sports website – Football-256 which celebrated it’s one year of existence.

Okello garnered 45826 votes to beat Denis Onyango, Patrick Kaddu Timothy Awany and Juma Balinya who had made the top five.

Okello managed to bag 18 goals since November 2018 where he helped KCCA to their 13th league crown.

He was part of the team that won the CECAFA Kagame club championship with KCCA and also helped the Cranes to book a fifth consecutive return to Africa Nations Championship.

The award, an initiative of Football-256 director Clive Kyazze, was almost blocked by FUFA who claimed that it’s activations were infringing on their intellectual properties.

Okello recieved his senior national team debut on Sunday when he came off the bench to replace William Kizito Luwagga in Cranes’ 2-0 win against Malawi in group B of the 2021 AFCON qualifier at Namboole.
