Vipers forward Fahad Bayo and captain Fahad Bayo will return to action on Friday as his side make a short trip to face Maroons FC at Luzira on Friday in a StarTimes UPL game, live on Sanyuka TV.

The striker, who has scored eight league goals, and Lwaliwa missed the club’s last two games including a 1-0 away loss to KCCA because of national team engagement – Bayo was on target as Uganda Cranes beat Malawi 2-0 in AFCON qualifiers.

Bayo is expected to partner Dan Sserunkuma and Allan Kayiwa up front, the latter will need a late fitness test after receiving a knock in the training according to the club’s website.

It remains to be seen whether Lwaliwa will partner Bashir Asiku or Geoffrey Wasswa in the heart of defence, however, Wasswa can be deployed on the right back or central midfield role.

Following their loss to KCCA, Vipers will be targeting return to winning ways. The Venoms are still on top of the log with 33 games, four above BUL FC in second.

“We put the past game behind us and have set a new target coming into this one. We want to play well and collect maximum points and with the return of some players we hope they will inspire the team and rally us back to winning ways,” Vipers head coach Edward Golola told the club’s website.

The club also revealed that teenagers Karim Watambala and Bobosi Byaruhanga will continue to miss out because of the ongoing UACE Exams.

For the hosts, Steven Desse Mukwala who is the leading goalscorer with 10 goals, misses out as he is ineligible to face parent club.

Fred Amaku, Pius Obuya and Abraham Tusubira will lead the club’s chase going forward in what promises to be a pulsating affair in Luzira.

Maroons FC, lost 3-2 away to Proline, occupy seventh place on the 16-team log with 19 points from 14 games and will seek to end the regular season on a positive note.
