KCCA will miss three forwards according to manager Mike Mutebi when the club visit URA FC at the Arena of Visions on Friday.

The visitors will miss the services of Sadat Anaku, Sunday Opio and Mike Mutyaba, the latter will need a late fitness test.

A win away to Kyetume coupled with Vipers’ draw against Mbarara saw second placed KCCA close the gap atop to just two points.

“We are not looking at vipers, we are concentrating on trying to win our own games,” coach Mutebi told the press on Thursday.

“We will be without Mutyaba, Anaku and Opio but I believe we have enough to pick points from URA. We have a responsibility to try and win back the title and we have never been under pressure.

“The points have been slightly lowered down but Vipers still have the advantage, and these other clubs are still improving and you never know. Its going to be a tight title race.”

Erisa Ssekisambu, Steven Sserwadda among other forwards will carry the visitors’ scoring burden against URA FC in what promises to be a highly contested game.

Anaku and Ssekisambu were on target as KCCA beat Kyetume 2-0 in Jinja in a game Mutebi commended opponents goalkeeper Joel Mutakubwa.

URA FC Pose Big Threat

URA were listed among favourites for the title at the start of the season, but a false start made everyone think otherwise.

Of recent, they have started to live as advertised – Since losing to Vipers last year in November, the Tax collectors have gone eight league games without a loss. Sam Ssimbwa’s team can go as high as third if they beat KCCA on Friday.

In the reverse fixture, URA held KCCA at Lugogo with Allan Okello’s goal canceled by Ashraf Mandela in a one all draw.

If KCCA are to win the league, this next chapter is going to be crucial. They visit a tricky URA, host relegation battlers Maroons, visit title contenders Vipers before Express and Police FC in that order.

A midfield duo of Saidi Kyeyune and Shafic Kagimu is expected to give KCCA FC hard time and Mike Mutebi’s charges will be made to work and dig deep if they are to pick a positive result from Ndejje.

Julius Mutyaba, Michael Birungi, Rwothomio Cromwell will be a big threat to an injury hit KCCA FC.
