Big League: MYDA Target Bukedea Scalp Ahead Of Second Round

The second round of the 2019/20 FUFA Big League kicks off this Thursday with two games in the Elgon group.

Leaders MYDA will play host to third placed Bukedea Town Council at the Elgon View ground, Tororo.

Bukedea have collected 12 points while MYDA finished the first round with 16 as both teams target the only automatic place to the top flight.

Both sides were bundled out of the Uganda Cup at the round of 16 and will have fresh focus to league promotion.


MYDA were beaten 5-0 away to Wakiso Giants while Bukedea lost 2-0 to KCCA FC at Lugogo.

The first round meeting in 2019 between the two sides saw MYDA score a late equaliser in added minutes after Mike Siu had given Bukedea advantage.

MYDA, coached by Abdul Musafiri, will bank on Norman Ojik, John Gabula, Tony Muluka among others.


The visitors who are coached by Anthony Ssekito, will hope for the best from their experienced goalkeeper Emmanuel Opio while Simon Okwi is expected to lead the line.
