Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA) Eng Moses Magogo has on Thursday morning picked nomination forms at NRM party headquarters, Kyadondo Road, to contest as the Member of Parliament.
The development makes it official to all doubters that Magogo will be contesting for the seat of Budiope East in the 2021 general elections.
He is expected to go head to head with incumbent Geoffrey Dhamuzungu, as it stands.
“My people in Budiope have asked me to represent them, something that I have agreed to and I will stand for the coming 2021 elections,” Magogo earlier said in January this year.
The FUFA President revealed that he wants to join Parliament and add to the other sports voices to develop sports in the country.
Magogo has been doing underground work ahea dof the polls; he bought an ambulance, mattresses, iron sheets, and also contributed funds to Sacco’s and religious groups in his home area.
It remains to be seen whether Magogo will relinquish his seat as FUFA President after close sources have suggested that he has already groomed Ronnie Kalema for the role.
However, despite FIFA statutes having no room for political interference, the rules do not prohibit federation presidents to run for political offices.
