Al Ahly have confirmed the appointment of Pitso Mosimane as the club’s next head coach for the next two years.
The gaffer who resigned from his job at Mamelodi Sundowns on Wednesday, replaces Swiss coach Rene Weiler whose contract has been terminated.
The appointment has been confirmed in a well crafted video posted on the Club’s official Twitter – The one-minute video starts with a kid in an unnamed slam area listening to a radio and ends with Pitso recording a wave of Al Ahly fans in a stadium.
In the video, Pitso is heard taking his salutations to the Al Ahly family: “Assalamu Alaykum and greetings to everybody at Al Ahly football club.”
The club, in a statement, has said that Pitso has been given liberty to come with a coach, physical trainer and a performance analyst.
He leaves the 2016 CAF Champions League winners to join Al Ahly who have won the African crown for a record eight times.
