Reports in Kenya have confirmed the arrest of Ugandan identified by names of Ronald Mugisha for an attempt to influence a league game between Western Stima and KCB.

Mugisha, is in Uganda known as Ronnie Santos Mwine, a renown football agent.

However, he is yet to be found guilty and investigations are still undergoing as he is in Police Custody.

Western Stima Chairman Laban Jobita has told Goal that he was approached by some of his players about an individual who had asked them to fix the game.

“So, I told my players to play along, but ensure they have recorded whatever was happening. I also told my team manager to ensure he has called me so that I follow up on the conversation in secrecy,” Jobita told Goal.

“I heard everything that was going on in the room and how he wanted to make a down-payment of Ksh70,000.

“He had promised to pay Ksh600,000 once the deal goes through as planned. It is at this point that we stormed the hotel and the man was arrested. He is currently remanded at Kisumu Central Police Station.

“My players have agreed to testify against him once he is arraigned.”

Jobita says that Mugisha has confessed to working with many people in many countries to fix games.

Western Stima, home to Uganda’s Villa Oromchan, lost to Gor Mahia 3-1, their third loss in four games.

The club is 16th with five points from eight games.
