Tanzania’s Taifa Stars eliminated Namibia following a 1-0 narrow win in Group D at the ongoing 2020 CHAN tournament in Cameroon.
Farid Musa scored the only goal of the game after the Namibia goalkeeper punched the ball into his path to bundle home from close range.
The result left Namibia without a point having lost 3-0 to Guinea in the opener.
Namibia, who reached Quarterfinals in 2018, are hence eliminated from this year’s tournament and will face Zambia in the last game.
Its a big win for Tanzania who came into the game having lost 2-0 to Zambia and will be targeting maximum points in their last game against Guinea.
In their group game, Zambia needed a lelate equaliser to salvage a point against Guinea.
Spencer Sautu leveled matters to deny Guinea who had gone in-front through Victor Kantabaduno in the 57th minute.
