City Oilers will be targeting to pile more misery on rivals and sleeping giants Betway Power as the two sides face off on Saturday at UCU Court in Mukono.

Unlike Power, Oilers have won their opening three games, including a boardroom win against Nam Blazers who fielded a non eligible Geoffrey Soro.

All eyes will be on City Oilers small forward Joseph Ikong who will be facing his former pay masters for the first time since leaving Power last year.

However, he is yet to find a spark and has struggled to exert authority in a star studied Oilers roster.

Oilers big man James Okello says that they are ready for the clash on Saturday.

“We are well prepared, the whole week we have been practising very hard knowing that we are playing a big side over the weekend, a team that has lost all its games, and we know its going to be tough,” said Okello.

“Power is a big team and as a player you will always want to play such teams beacuse that’s the only way you will measure yourself, so that alone motivates us.”

With the shortened season being played under a one-leg format, Okello adds that this season will be the toughest.

He stated: “This season ofcourse is the toughest given the fact that we don’t have room for error, every game has to be taken seriously.”

After the forfeited win against Nam Blazers, a game they lost on court, Oilers beat Ndejje Angels 77-66 before overcoming Falcons 61-45.

Team News: Michael Makiadi is a doubt due to a knee injury.

It Cannot Get Any Worse For Power

Betway Power has lost their three opening games – falling 91-66 to KIU Titans on Saturbef, 91-79 to Ndejje University Angels and 70-52 to JKL Dolphins.

Its a tight fixture, and the game against Oilers comes at a wrong time.

Work is cut out for coach Arnold Lando Mchuda who has generally new faces and it will take time for these players to gel.

They have found solace in Isaac veteran Isaac Afidra who scored 8 points and 11 rebounds against JKL Dolphins.

New signings Salim Kisilu, Gauthier Badhera and Stephen Wundi have already showed what they can do, but they will need more support from the rest of the group, else a blow out is in the pipeline.

Patrick Seduge, Arion Osama, Elvis Ssentongo, Tony Wafula, Adnan Kabuye and Guddi Nasser among others must put in a decent shift.

“We are prepared. We are working on our defense both individually and as a team,” shooting guard Wundi told The-SportsNation.

“As a team with new players, we are trying to find our chemistry and strength as a team. Our bench needs to equally get involved.”

Team News: Power will be without Brian Sivachi who is in Kenya for burial arrangements of his Dad.
