We Lost But Our Target Was Achieved – Rines Coach Nyanzi

Rines WFC head coach Bright Nyanzi says their target was achieved despite losing in the finals of the FUFA Women Elite League.

He made those remarks after his side lost 1-0 to She Maroons in the final played at Njeru on Thursday.

Nyanzi’s side walked away with 5 million in cash prize as the runners up for the tournament and aslo sealed a spot in next season’s FUFA Women Super League.

Speaking after the finals, Nyanzi said the tournament was good to his side.

“The tournament has been good on my side. Nyanzi said.

“We have not gotten an injured player and all my players have been consistent. Everything has been good in the camp.”

In the run up to the finals, Rines topped their group before they needed shootouts at both quarters and semi finals.

It is always tough to take a loss in a final but Nyanzi says his side achieved their target.

“For my team, it was a target achieved.

“We came here with a target of qualifying for the super League which was achieved.”

Rines goal keeper Elsie Najjemba walked away with the best goalkeeper accolade of the tournament having had an impressive season.
