Lady Doves Clears Air On Future of Nakaziro, Nakigozi

FUFA Women Super League Champions lady Doves FC have come out and cleared the air about the stay of their two players .

The two said players are club Captain Daisy Nakaziro And Elizabeth Nakigozi, who have been making headlines on different platforms about their departure from the Club.

However in a press statement released by the club on Wednesday, the club says they reached had some discussion with the two about renewal of their contracts, and they are still optimistic about their stay.

The statement read in part:

“Our attention is drawn to stories we have heard, seen and read Making rounds on our team captain leaving the club alongside another player Elizabeth Nakigozi. The facts is as follows.

  1. The contracts of the two players expires and the parties to this engagement embarked on negotiations that were aimed at renewing the player’s stay at the club. At the negotiations, the two players were represented by a Agent, who was nominated and introduced to us by the two players.
  2. During negotiations that lasted over two weeks, there were areas of cocurrence and incongruity and it is the latter that led to talks and not the players, being suspended. Each party is aware of and the extent of incongruity. We are optimistic that sooner than later, parties will harmonize position or close the matter and at that juncture, we will notify the public.
  3. Both the players and club are looking forward to working together during CAF Women Champion’s Zonal Qualifiers and beyond. Issued by the office of PRO- Lady Doves.”

The stay of their Captain Nakaziro and Nakigozi will be a big boost to the Western based side club as they need to keep their best players for the games ahead.

Lady Doves are preparing for CAF women champions league zonal qualifiers to take place in Nairobi, Kenya next month on 17th. July.2021.

If they go through the Zonal Qualifiers, the Believers will represent the country in the inaugural CAF Women’s Champions League to be held in Morocco, November.
